one month away from Sparrow Hawk!

We have been accepted as a family to serve with North American Indigenous Ministries from June17th to July 10th this year.  It has been on our heart to serve with First Nations families and youth since the fall of last year and God has also been working in the lives of our children.

It has been encouraging to see Jordan leading by example by committing his vacation pay to help support this endeavor and seeing the willingness of all of our children to sacrifice in different ways.  I will be using my vacation time to be involved in this mission and we will be living on a First Nations reserve in Saskatchewan after our initial training at Echo Lake Bible Camp in Fort Qu'Appelle, SK.  We will be serving alongside the full time ministry staff that serve as missionaries with the Peepeekisis (Sparrow Hawk) reserve in Balcarres, SK

We will be involved in running youth and family programming and helping staff the summer camp for the children there.   It is our hope to better understand what life is like for families who live on the reserve and to inspire faith and trust in Jesus Christ for the life transformation that He can bring.

We know that the trip will also be a great experience for us as a family and we will learn much from their culture as well.  We want to see Jordan, Brynley, Addi and Rylan continue to grow in their sensitivity to serving others and realize just how blessed we are.

We ask that you would commit to praying for our family during this time as well as our time travelling by van to and from Saskatchewan!  We will head out from Guelph on Friday June 15th and arrive back on July 13th.   It will be one serious road trip for us and Jordan is looking forward to driving as well, not to mention Brynley who is ready to go get her G1!  Get ready for the straight stretches of the prairies!
