I made a statement with reference to the place of His abiding presence a few weeks ago “To the extent that your heart and mind are yielded to the Spirit of God, you can trust your own thoughts.”
I've given it more thought...
I heard Lloyd J Ogilvie make a very similar statement and it really spoke to me.
I  believe that when we are in that place of surrender and when we are listening,
He will fill us with godly thoughts and actions.  The verses that speak to
me most on this subject are John 15:7.
John
15:7  If you remain in me and my words remain in you,
ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.  How can I really get to
that place where I can ask whatever I wish?  I think the only time I can
do that is when I truly am remaining in Him.
Romans 8:6  So letting your sinful nature control your mind
leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and
peace.  This verse also speaks about a place where we
actually can  have the Spirit of God controlling our minds.
I once
heard John MacArthur speak on God’s will and he spoke of the 5 S’s – being
saved, sanctified, Spirit-filled, submissive and be willing to suffer.  He
then finished his book by saying if you do these five things, you can do
whatever you want meaning if these are the controlling factors in your life,
your decisions will be guided by all of the above.
I know I
can trust my own thoughts only when I am in that place of yielding to His
Spirit’s leading in my life.
I have heard prayer defined as "aligning our will with His will for us."  I agree and my belief is that our thoughts become aligned with His thoughts for us when we are abiding in the presence of Christ and you could say under the influence of the Holy Spirit as well.
This is truly a place where His love abides!
